Gujarat ACPUGMEC counselling.
Gujarat MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and BHMS counselling is conducted by ACPUGMEC, the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses, Government of Gujarat. The committee fills 85% State Quota seats across all Government, GMERS Society, Municipal, ESIC, and Private Self-Financing colleges in Gujarat. The remaining 15% AIQ seats in Government colleges are filled through MCC AIIMS counselling alongside the central pool.

About the rounds
Gujarat ACPUGMEC runs an online counselling cycle with multiple rounds and a final mop-up. Each round publishes opening and closing ranks per college per category, and admissions follow strict NEET UG All India Rank order within Gujarat's domicile-verified merit list. Candidates can upgrade or float between rounds. Vacancies created by NRI seats remaining unfilled in GMERS and Gujarat Adani Bhuj are reassigned as Management Quota seats with Management Quota fees by ACPUGMEC, a Gujarat-specific quirk.

Domicile rules
To claim Gujarat domicile for the 85% State Quota, candidates must be Indian citizens AND meet one of: (a) studied Class 1 through Class 12 in Gujarat recognised schools, (b) parents are domiciled in Gujarat for at least 10 years and the candidate has studied for at least 3 years in Gujarat between Class 1 and Class 12, or (c) other domicile criteria per ACPUGMEC notification. Documentary proof (school certificates, parent's domicile certificate, ration card, etc.) is mandatory at document verification.

- Date of Birth proof (Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate)
- School Leaving Certificate / Transfer Certificate (TC)
- Gujarat Domicile Certificate or School records establishing Gujarat domicile
- Category Certificate for SEBC / SC / ST / EWS (issued by competent revenue authority, with non-creamy-layer endorsement for SEBC where applicable)
- PwBD/UDID Certificate (if claiming PH reservation) from Gujarat Civil Hospital medical board
- Aadhaar Card and one additional Government Photo ID
- Passport size photographs (recent)
- NRI documentation if claiming NRI seat (sponsor passport, embassy attestation, etc.)
- Demand Draft or online payment for counselling registration fee and tuition fee at allotment

Important notes
- GMERS Society Medical Colleges follow a distinct fee structure (lower than other private colleges) and have NO Management Quota allotment in regular counselling; only Government Quota + NRI Quota seats.
- Vacant NRI seats at GMERS colleges and Gujarat Adani Institute Bhuj are reassigned by ACPUGMEC as Management Quota seats with Management Quota fees.
- Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College (Ahmedabad) and SMIMER Surat reserve a city-domicile LOCAL quota visible as LOCAL-OPEN, LOCAL-EWS, LOCAL-SEBC, LOCAL-SC, LOCAL-ST in published cutoffs.
- Candidates without a Gujarat domicile certificate or qualifying school records cannot claim state quota seats. They may apply only to AIQ seats through MCC counselling.
- AIIMS Rajkot admits exclusively through MCC AIIMS counselling. Its seats are NOT in ACPUGMEC counselling.
- Rajah-style Category-B colleges do not exist in Gujarat. ESIC Ahmedabad participates in ACPUGMEC like other government colleges.
