About the rounds

DME MP runs an online counselling cycle over typically 4 rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round if seats remain. Each round publishes closing AIR per college per category per quota. Choice filling happens after the rank list publication; allotment follows strict NEET UG AIR order within MP's domicile-verified merit list with the standard 4-category reservation roster (UR/OBC/EWS/SC/ST + PH horizontal).

Important notes

  • MP cutoffs are published as a single annual closing AIR + NEET Score per category per college, not per-round. Stored as quota=SNAPSHOT and round=SNAPSHOT in the cutoffs table.
  • AIIMS Bhopal admits exclusively through MCC AIQ counselling. AIIMS Bhopal seats do NOT participate in DME MP state counselling.
  • ESIC Medical College Indore (50 seats, new 2025) has a separate central counselling stream for ESIC IP/IP family quota in addition to general AIQ.
  • Madhya Pradesh has India HIGHEST Scheduled Tribe reservation at 20% (compared to typical 6-8% in other states), reflecting the largest tribal population.
  • MP has NO Deemed medical colleges. All 14 private colleges are state-quota and route through DME MP counselling.
  • MP has NO minority private medical colleges (Christian or Muslim). Unique among large Indian states.
  • Government MBBS tuition is Rs. 1,00,000 per year + Rs. 14,000 caution = Rs. 1,14,000 total, uniform across all state govt colleges. 5x higher than Kerala (Rs. 28,950 lump-sum) but still affordable.
  • 2018 to 2025 expansion wave nearly doubled MP MBBS govt seats: 4 colleges added in 2018 (Datia, Khandwa, Ratlam, Vidisha), 3 in 2019 (Chhindwara, Shahdol, Shivpuri), 1 in 2023 (Satna), 3 in 2024 (Neemuch, Seoni, Mandsaur), 3 in 2025 (Sheopur, Singrauli, ESIC Indore).
