Domicile rules

To claim Chhattisgarh state quota seats, candidates must satisfy Chhattisgarh domicile clauses: (a) born in Chhattisgarh with continuous residence + education, (b) parent is a Chhattisgarh state government employee, (c) parent is a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh, (d) candidate studied in Chhattisgarh for the qualifying years. Chhattisgarh domicile certificate from Tehsildar is required at verification. Caste certificates (OBC/SC/ST) must be issued by Chhattisgarh state authority - certificates from other states are NOT accepted.

  • Chhattisgarh was formed in 2000 from Madhya Pradesh. Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College Raipur (Pt JNM MC, 1963) was originally part of Madhya Pradesh and is the OLDEST medical college in Chhattisgarh.
  • AIIMS Raipur (2012) is the 6th AIIMS established in India under Phase II. Admits 100% via MCC AIQ counselling.
  • Chhattisgarh has the HIGHEST ST reservation percentage in India (32%) reflecting its 32% tribal population.
  • Cutoffs use a sophisticated 4-tier quota encoding: GQ Government / Mgmt Management / NRI / Minority with special tags PH (PwD), EX (Ex-Serviceman), FF (Freedom Fighter), SP (Sports).

  • Late Baliram Kashyap Smriti Shaheed MC Jagdalpur (LBKSSMC, 2006) is UNIQUELY affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University (Raipur), unlike all other state govt colleges which are under Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences University.
  • Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial GMC Durg (2013) was originally a private/society college, taken over by state government and converted to State Govt status.
